Competing in a Spartan Race isn’t easy. Likewise, it’s hard to figure out how to train for a spartan race, since it requires one part endurance, one part upper body strength, a few parts technique, and a half ton of mental toughness. While there are many proven ways to get in shape, all of which would help your conquer a Spartan Race, we have found there are some key exercises and ways you can effectively train for a Spartan Race.
There are a lot of similarities between Rugged Maniac vs Tough Mudder, but there are also a lot of things that make them stand out from each other. Whether you’re preparing to compete in any number of OCR races this year, be it Spartan, Tough Mudder, Warrior Dash or Battlefrog, one of the things you will use to complete any number of obstacles is your hands. One of the best things I learned early on in these races was that the right pair of gloves can make a world of difference when you are climbing ropes, traversing rigs, or even keeping your fingers warm on a cold day.
Tough Mudder has some of the best obstacles on the OCR circuit. Perhaps no race is as creative when it comes to creating (and naming!) the obstacles they will challenge racers with this year.
